"These models are little gems, superb collectors' items and very rare" says in his book Roger Gillham about James Bond cars (Scalextric cars and equipment of past and present - 1987). This set was in catalogue only for two years (1968 - 1969) and is really particular. The Aston Martin has a rear bumper wich, when touched, raises a "bullet proof" screen behind the rear window. The set includes a special piece of right section with a dummy rock in the middle, that actuates a black lever on the left side of the car; this lever sends the passenger flying out of the car. The black Mercedes 190L has a long wire spring fastened by the rear bumper; when the bumper is hit by the Aston Martin, the spring is released, wich causes the car to overturn. James Bond set: a lot of fun for slot enthusiasts and a lot of pride for few lucky Scalextric collectors like me!
